MCP Servers

MCP Servers

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) lets RedCell call tools hosted by external servers — scanners, knowledge bases, or your own scripts. RedCell starts each configured server, lists its tools, and makes them available to the agent during a session.

Configure a Server

Add servers under [mcp_servers] in config.toml. Each entry names a command RedCell runs to launch the server over stdio:

config.toml
[mcp_servers.example]
command = "npx"
args = ["-y", "@example/mcp-server"]
env = optional key/value pairs

Using Tools

Once a server is configured, its tools appear to the agent automatically. Tool calls go through the same approval flow as any other action, so you stay in control of what runs.

startup
